Hotspots?

Seriously...

Why is it so difficult to surf the web outside office? As i wrote earlier, connectivity is such a chore here. I am now at McD, one of those places offering wifi hotspot. Earlier, i was at Starbucks. Yes, we have that coffee chain here, at Mesra Mall.

Mesra Mall? It is the only place that kept life bearable for those youngsters who transferred from the city. Thankfully it got all the basics like a cinema, a karaoke place, a bowling alley, family game centre, futsal court, Starbucks, Burger King, Secret Recipe, Rotiboy, Guardian, Famous Amos, big Apple and some other chain store. A simple, single storey mall. Somehow keeping us KL people sane. Thank you certain oil and gas company!!! heh...

Since i came here, i would always go to Mesra Mall to buy stuff. (Though the stuff can be bought at any sundry shop near my area!). Twice, i break the fast with my fellow friends. Once, went to watch Planet of the Apes on a Wednesday. So many times went to TMC (a sub-chain of Giant Hyperstore), to buy household thingy. Really, it is much fun and convenient to go here. Need not to go anywhere else.

About connectivity... for the time being, going online have to be from the office or these hotspots. I have yet to call TM to get streamyx at the house. Usually, i'll hang around at McD to give updates, surfing and chat. It is easier at McD. I haven't tried at Mesra Mall. The signal is stronger at this fast food chain. And you don't necessarily have to buy anything to log in the internet.

I think for this month, i'll be around the hotspots...

Lelaki seperti aku...

Memang tak ada lelaki seperti aku
Tapi yang lebih baik banyak
Memang tak ada lelaki sehebat aku
Tapi yang lebih hebat banyak

Maka tak perlu kau susah hati
Banyak lelaki yang bisa kau pilih
Untuk kau jadikan sandaran hati

Memang tak ada lelaki seseksi aku
Tapi yang lebih seksi banyak
Memang tak ada lelaki setampan aku
Tapi yang lebih tampan banyak

Maka tak perlu sedu sedan itu
Jangan sampai kau rendahkan dirimu
Memaksa aku tuk’ jadi pacarmu

Oo baby baby
Jangan kau marah sebab ku tolak
Ku tahu kamu cantik
Ku percaya kau baik
Ku yakin pasti ada
Lelaki yang tertarik

Oo baby
Jangan kau dendam sebab ku enggan
Bercinta aku mahu
Tapi tidak denganmu
Ku sudah ada satu
Kekasih yang menunggu

Ceritanya aku sedang belajar setia
Maka dari itu kamu terus jangan memaksa
Kerna aku memang tak suka mendua
Oo baby baby
Jangan kau marah sebab ku tolak
Ku tahu kamu cantik
Ku percaya kau baik
Ku yakin pasti ada
Lelaki yang tertarik

Oo baby
Jangan kau dendam sebab ku enggan
Bercinta aku mahu
Tapi tidak denganmu
Ku sudah ada satu
Kekasih yang menunggu
Oo baby baby
Jangan kau marah sebab ku tolak
Ku tahu kamu cantik
Ku percaya kau baik
Ku yakin pasti ada
Lelaki yang tertarik

Oo baby
Jangan kau dendam sebab ku enggan
Bercinta aku mahu
Tapi tidak denganmu
Ku sudah ada satu
Kekasih yang menunggu

Memang tak ada lelaki seperti aku
Tapi yang lebih baik banyak...

Missing someone...

I missed someone...

A deskjob it is...

Week 2 on the job...

Is it a boring job? Not really. Is it so interesting? Not really also.

By definition, it is a deskjob. You are pushing papers to get approval. Everyday.

Calling vendors to make sure they get the orders. Every other day.

Users calling you making sure you pushed the papers and call the vendors. 24 hours? It might as well be!

P/s : Someone told me that whether the work interesting or not, it's entirely up to you. You are the one who can make it exciting, interesting. If you look forward for the job, the job will not bore you. If you wake up and thinking, it'll be a boring day...for sure it'll be full of boredom.

P/s 2 : Finding the motivation is not easy. You need to push yourselves. You need to know what makes you excited. You need to make your day wonderful. Noone would make it wonderful for you.

P/s 3 : Think it like this. This is the work the company pays you to do. Do it. The company could always pay other people if you are not interested. This is the fortune God had given us. Aren't we grateful?

P/s 4 : 'Ikhlas' is the word. The more we moan, the more we complain, it's like we are not grateful. This is even harder to achieve but it is achievable. I am like other people, digging deep for motivation, tunneling further to search for 'ikhlas'... trying to do the job with heart.

Yup, it is so hard...

ASTRO is here...

Yeah...

The ASTRO man came today and plugged in the satellite dish. Now, i can watch TV clearly with my favourite channels!

No more boring evening and nights!

Hooray...

Ramadhan away from the family...

It's not that i haven't been away from my family before...

I went to a boarding school for my secondary level and living in campus for my tertiary education. Ramadhan at that time was always spent with friends. Breaking fast together. If not, we just went to the ramadhan market available together and buy food there to bring to our individuals rooms.

The situation repeats itself here. Away from family makes us colleagues wants to be together. I can't imagine we would spend this much time together should we work at KL. Here, you get to 'sahur' with your housemates. At my rental house, i try to make a point to cook for 'sahur'. Mind you that i'm not a good cook. But we always eat together that early in the morning. To break 'fast', at times we eat together at the house. Sometimes, i'll join friends here eating at the various eateries available. Seldom do we eat individually. For some reason, away from family makes you want to band together with those of same fates.

For the 2 weeks here, it is bearable. Colleagues aka friends who transfered together from KL are near. In fact we live just a few houses away from each other. So, when you just wanted to eat together, plans are easily made. I am glad for that. I am also glad that they haven't found that it is boring to go out and eat with the same faces every 2 - 3 days.

Thanks to my friends...

Feeling stressed anyone? Try and reduce it...

1.     Make it a point to verbalize all your pent up feelings to colleagues.

There is no substitute for communication when it comes to relieving stress. Feeling of isolation is common in cases of prolonged stress and talking about your feelings to a colleague can help you vie things in another perspective – thus act as a cushion in times of stress.
2.     Take one day at a time.

Do some effective time management. Do not spend your tea and coffee breaks to catch up with pending work. Instead, take time off to do something completely different which is in no way related to work. Taking a break from your normal schedule does wonders in refreshing your mind and outlook towards your job.

3.     Try to realize your own energy schedules.

We don't feel the same way during the entire day. So, schedule your work accordingly. Find out which are your high energy hours – and keep the more stressful work during that time. This will ease out stress and stop unnecessary loss of vital energy.

4.    Never try to work all the stressful jobs at the same time.

It will require some amount of advance planning no doubt but if you can plan out your work and take one stressful work at a time – you will soon find out that you can really put in your best in that particular work. It will also leave you less drained.

5.     Keep some outdoor activity in your daily work schedule.

A refreshed body stores a refreshed mind. Out brain needs vital oxygen to keep our body and mind in optimal performing condition. Physical exercise makes us look better and feel better. It increases self-esteem. When you are hibernating, the emotional distresses increase and you feel much low.

6.      When you have a big and intensive job in hand – do not get overwhelmed by its magnitude.

Instead, break it up in small components. It will then seem easier to handle and manage. At the end you will not even realize that you have actually completed the big job so successfully.

7.     Remember you cannot handle everything.

Learn to delegate, if you have the opportunity to do so. If you know your own limitations, it makes the task easier. This way you can involve many others in the problem solving and decision making process.

8.     You do not have to say yes to everyone and every job that comes your way.

Learn to decline. If you go on saying yes to every project, you will soon be full of anger and resentment. Saying no at the right time gives us a sense of control and happiness. That does not mean that you decline from getting involved or committed. Life is all about choices. So take as much as you can give but never over commit and under deliver.
