Ramadhan away from the family...

It's not that i haven't been away from my family before...

I went to a boarding school for my secondary level and living in campus for my tertiary education. Ramadhan at that time was always spent with friends. Breaking fast together. If not, we just went to the ramadhan market available together and buy food there to bring to our individuals rooms.

The situation repeats itself here. Away from family makes us colleagues wants to be together. I can't imagine we would spend this much time together should we work at KL. Here, you get to 'sahur' with your housemates. At my rental house, i try to make a point to cook for 'sahur'. Mind you that i'm not a good cook. But we always eat together that early in the morning. To break 'fast', at times we eat together at the house. Sometimes, i'll join friends here eating at the various eateries available. Seldom do we eat individually. For some reason, away from family makes you want to band together with those of same fates.

For the 2 weeks here, it is bearable. Colleagues aka friends who transfered together from KL are near. In fact we live just a few houses away from each other. So, when you just wanted to eat together, plans are easily made. I am glad for that. I am also glad that they haven't found that it is boring to go out and eat with the same faces every 2 - 3 days.

Thanks to my friends...
